Masterclass: Score Preparation – The Hacks Behind a Successful Recording

Musiversal Orchestras is an award-winning orchestral production team working with composers, producers, and artists from around the world to bring orchestral music to life. Through collaborations with leading orchestras and recording studios across Europe, the team supports projects ranging from film and television scores to contemporary artist productions.
In this masterclass, the team will share practical insights into score preparation and the key elements behind a successful orchestral recording session. Drawing from hundreds of real recording sessions, the session will explore common mistakes composers make when moving from MIDI mockups to real musicians, and the workflows that help sessions run smoothly.
The masterclass will include real case studies from Musiversal recordings, showing how musical ideas evolve from demos into fully recorded orchestral performances, and how to prepare music for ensembles ranging from chamber groups to full symphony orchestras.
The session will be led by Alex Palmer, Rita Senhor, and Nicole Picazo, members of the Musiversal Orchestras team. Their work has supported numerous international productions and award-recognized projects in film and media music.
